ABOUT ROHLFING LABS
Curiosity is the start.
Useful is the goal.
A founder-led engineering practice for organizations that want to make technology work better.
Taiwan-based. International perspective.
Hi, I’m Austin.
I’m an American software and data engineering professional living in Taiwan, and the founder of Rohlfing Labs. I enjoy getting to the heart of difficult problems and turning that understanding into practical technology.
My professional foundation is in senior data engineering, with substantial experience in enterprise data infrastructure, Azure Databricks, and integration across operational systems. That work has taught me to value clear architecture, reliable data, and systems that can be maintained as requirements change.
Alongside that work, I build software products, business websites, and multilingual content systems. My projects include a multi-currency budgeting application and publishing tools that combine AI-assisted translation with human review. For document search and other AI workflows, I start by testing a specific use case and defining how its quality will be assessed.
Rohlfing Labs brings these interests together. It is a new business, built on my existing professional experience. When we work together, you work directly with me.
